Bell & Ross BR03-92 Automatic 42mm Diver Orange Review
Today, we will dive deep into the reference BR0392-D-O-ST/SRB from Bell & Ross. This is a limited-edition timepiece for professional divers and has some unique features about it.
DIAL
We will start with the obvious, the dial. This watch features a bright orange dial that provides excellent visibility. It has a great contrast from the black printed minutes and seconds track, luminous hour markers, and dark black central hand.
HOUR MARKERS
The designers at Bell & Ross watches chose a combination of different shapes for the various hour markers. Capsule-shaped hour markers are used for the 9 and 3 o’clock positions. Round hour markers are used for 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11 o’clock positions. A flat-bottomed capsule shape is used for the 6 o’clock position, and, finally, the 12 o’clock position has a bolder shield-shaped hour marker.
LUME
All the hour markers are applied, contoured in black, and filled with luminous material that glows in the dark in a bright green hue.
DATE WINDOW
Between the 4 and 5 o’clock position, there is a round recessed date window displaying the day of the month in a black printed sans serif font.
BEZEL
The black aluminum bezel rotates in one direction and has a green luminous dot at the start position. The bezel features a 20-minute diving scale and bold silver numerals and minute markers at every 5-minute interval.
CASE
Of course, the most recognizable common feature in this collection is the rounded-square-shaped case. This model’s case is made of stainless steel with a combination of a brushed and polished finish. The flat, topside of the case has a brushed finish with polished screws at each corner. They are inserted in a way that when fully tightened, the line in each screw radiates outwards. The beveled edge of the case has a nice, polished finish, as does the notched, grippy edge of the unidirectional rotating bezel ring.
CROWN
The right side of the case features protruding crown guards on either side of the winding crown that locks the screw-down crown into a secure position. The crown itself has a steel tip with a notched rubber grip. The tip of the crown is engraved with the signature Bell 7 Ross ampersand icon. The lugs and the side of the case, case back, and middle case all have a beautiful, brushed finish.
CASE BACK
The watch features a solid steel case back with a brushed finish in the center and a polished finish along the edge where the screws fasten the case back to the middle case. The center of the case back is engraved with the model number, the Bell & Ross logo, and some of the features, in addition to the limited edition number.
MOVEMENT
The inside of the case houses the caliber BR-CAL.302, an ébauche movement with a Selitta SW300-1 base that beats at 28,800 vph, contains 25 jewels, and has a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
STRAP
The black linearly textured rubber strap is fastened with a stainless-steel brushed pin buckle. The clasp is engraved with ‘BR’ and has a polished beveled edge. The watch also arrives with an additional strap that is made of synthetic canvas fabric and is easily interchangeable.
BOX
This watch comes in a heavy-duty, water-resistant PELI presentation case as depicted below. It has a handle making it easy to transport and tightly seals shut with an integrated locking mechanism.
